Neuroscience Research Institute (NRI) of Gachon University is Korea's first brain research organization established in 2004. Leading the development of neuroimaging technology, we completed the world's first map of a living human brain in 2009. Based on this, together with Gachon University Gil Medical Center, we built the world's second ultra-high field MRI system equipped with an 11.74 T magnet in 2022, and are on the verge of becoming the world's first to put the system into practical use. We believe that this will be a groundbreaking turning point in research on incurable brain diseases. We are also achieving outstanding results in basic and clinical neuroscience research.

Based on the research achievements and R&D platform established over the past 20 years, NRI seeks to take a leap forward as a research institute leading the practicalization and commercialization of neuroscience research. We will strengthen all stages of the R&D value chain, from basic, translational, and developmental research to commercialization, by utilizing the NRI's infrastructure and network with Gachon University and its affiliated hospital. We will firmly establish ourselves as the world's best neuroimaging technology research institute and accelerate the development and commercialization of drugs and medical devices for diagnosing and treating brain diseases. Through this, NRI will emerge as a leading research institute that creates medical, industrial, and social value from brain science and technology.
